We will be discussing the following article from Socialist Worker: http://socialistworker.org/2009/04/17/standing-up-to-starbucks which includes an interview with an organizer of Starbucks workers. The IWW has taken a lead in organizing Starbucks workers in a return to grassroots rank-and-file workers' power organizing that holds important lessons for the labor movement!
We will also be discussing a response to anti-abortion and homophobic bigot Mike Adams who will be coming to UMass next week.
Finally, we will discuss organizing for the Socialism 2009 conference.
