National Equality March Report-back
&
Northeast Socialist Conference Preparation
ISO Office, UMass Student Union 420a
Thursday * Oct 15 * 7:15pm
On October 11, 2009, over 150 students and other activists from all 5 Colleges and Western Massachusetts joined hundreds of thousands of others as we marched on Washington, DC to demand FULL EQUALITY for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender people in all matters governed by civil law in all 50 states NOW.
Several members of the International Socialist Organization were there. Join us to talk about the march, share your experiences if you went, and talk about the next steps for our movement.
On October 24-25, local members of the ISO and our allies will be travelling to New York City for the Northeast Socialist Conference.
Every year hundreds of activists and socialists gather at the Northeast Socialist Conference to debate and discuss the struggles before us. The world faces urgent problems and need a vision for a different future. With the free-market consensus in tatters and an open debate beginning about how best to organize our society, these discussions are more vital than ever.
Join us to talk about why you should go, and make sure to bring your registration money ($20, $15 student/low-income) and money for a bed in a hostel if you need a place to stay ($38). This is one event you DO NOT WANT TO MISS!!!
