10/4 Study Meeting: Socialists in Movements

Campus Center Room 811
One of the most important questions for socialists is how to relate their ideas to a larger audience and win wider layers of people to socialism. The question for revolutionaries—that is, for those whom experience has already taught the need to overturn capitalism and replace it with a more equitable society—is how to relate to the much larger forces that are resisting, but have yet to embrace a socialist alternative.

Join us for for a discussion and debate on these issues and how they relate to movement work today. We will be reading three articles prior to the discussion:

Socialists and Movements by Joel Geier
from the International Socialist Review, Issue 47, May-June 2006

For a Workers United Front Against Fascism by Leon Trotsky

On the United Front by Leon Trotsky
from First 5 Years of the Comintern: Vol. 2, 1922
